Maria Horton

Maria Horton has been teaching at St. Francis Xavier since 2002 and has been part of the St. Francis Community as a parent since 1999. Prior to earning her teaching certification she worked in the corporate arena as a Training and Development Consultant, Senior Project Manager, and Account Manager in Andersen Consulting, CIGNA, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont, IDX and Hill Associates. She served as the Membership Chairperson for the Vermont Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development for three years and the Vice-President of Finance for the Champlain Valley Chapter of the Project Management Institute for two years. Her areas of specialization include customer relationship management, project management, financial management, software education, and instructional and curriculum design. Mrs. Horton holds a BA in Psychology with concentrations in marketing and English from the University of Vermont and an MBA with a focus on Human Resource Management and Finance, also from UVM. She recently completed her M.Ed. with a concentration in technology at St. Michael's College.
