Shop class is open to all 5th - 12th grade students as well as adults. This course is set up so that as students learn and master certain skills and tasks they are encouraged to move up in degree of difficulty as well as use of different tools. A student may join the class at any time throughout the year.
This is a structured how-to course with instructor guidance involving demonstration and hands-on instruction in which
students practice skills and techniques that can be applied to all fine woodworking. This course requires proficiency
and attention to shop safety and awareness.All projects in this course work involve the following:
- Safety procedures
- Proper selection and use of tools
- Measuring and math
- Budgeting
- Techniques for cutting and assembling
All students start out with a simple project to demonstrate mastery of safety and skills
