Vermont Centennial Nonprofits Award
We are pleased to announce that Saint Francis Xavier School were honored at the Vermont Centennial Nonprofits Awards ceremony on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the State House in Montpelier. Saint Francis was recognized as one of the oldest nonprofits in Vermont. Four representatives from our school received the award from Vermont Secretary of State Deb Markowitz.
"A Year in the Life" Volumes I and II
Copies still available. These books, written by David Prehoda and based on Father Lavalley's inspiring homilies, make a wonderful gift. All proceeds benefit St. Francis Xavier School. Please contact the office for more information.
Curriculum
St. Francis Xavier School offers our students a complete Catholic formation. We have weekly school Mass, daily prayer and provide opportunities for regular Confession and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
Our curriculum is designed to develop the critical skills, abilities and knowledge essential for success. A variety of educational experiences address the learning styles and needs of all students. Students are encouraged to reach their potential through hard work and academic commitment.
Sister Imelda Caissie Early Education Center
St. Francis Xavier School offers full-day Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs. Our curriculum and updated classroom design emphasize exploration to build self-esteem and interest in learning. Educational Activities include the following: Religion, Math and Science, Language Arts, French and Spanish, Arts and Music, Social Studies, Physical Education and Computers.
Extension Program
St. Francis Xavier School runs an after-school program from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm during most school vacations and during the summer. Activities include the following: Homework assistance, Nutritious snacks, Arts and Crafts, Special projects, Structured and unstructured play, Modern playground equipment and Local field trips.
Elementary School
The Elementary program at St. Francis Xavier is exceptional. Students develop socially and academically in a loving and encouraging environment. Our program is designed to support the wide range of individual learning needs. Our curriculum includes: Religion, Math, Language Arts, French and Spanish, Physical Education, Science Music, Art, Computer Applications and Social Studies.
Middle School
The Saint Francis Middle School curriculum includes a variety of core and elective academic experiences: Religion, Social Studies, Language Arts, Physical, Life and Earth Sciences, Math, Pre-algebra and Algebra, French and Spanish, Music, Physical Education, Art, Computer Applications and Enrichment in Study Skills and Creative Writing.
